neologisms: love them or hate them?Honestly, I have no feelings of prejudice towards neologisms. Terrible as some may sound at first, I have come to like these made-up words that combine different concepts or activities. The bLeisure buzzword is a bit on the horrendous side but people have been using it to describe a new type of business traveller: one who fits in leisure travel while 'on the road'. Even some companies are realizing that helping their traveling executives to tag on some me-time to work trips is a good way to retain talent and provide some work-life balance. However, professional or personal commitments at home may mean you can't book that extra day. This is where Sightrunning comes in. Take Daniel for instance: he was in Porto last May for the European Congress on Obesity ECO2017 (link) and still managed to squeeze in a run and lot’s of sightseeing before meeting a colleague for a proper breakfast and heading for the conference centre. As a 'running tour evangelist' and former corporate employee, this is what I preach: even if you don’t have the means and professional flexibility to add leisure days onto your business trip, a pair of running shoes should always be a part of your luggage. (VIDEO) One and half hours of running at conversation pace meant Daniel saw and learned a lot about Porto while ticking off the daily exercise on his chore list. Quoting Daniel on his TA review of the tour "Saw parts of city I would never have wandered to as well as learnt and saw many interesting things. A really entertaining and enjoyable means of seeing Porto rather than being stuck in the traffic In a hop on hop off bus!" Maybe you'll agree with me on this: now that “Sightrunning” and “BLeisure” met each other, things will never be the same. Not in Porto, anyway :) share this with your running friends:Comments are closed.
